Aim

Our principle aim is to encourage all students to participate in performance, developing fundamental skills and abilities including self awareness, commitment and respect for others. In performance we encourage a creative atmosphere where all students can explore freely diverse avenues to enjoy dance.

Strategies

Facilitate students to develop comprehensive knowledge of dance styles and techniques based on theoretical and practical experience, exercised throughout both the school and the wider community

Educate students in choreographic practises, musicality and mime.

Visually and verbally keep students informed on any up coming dance auditions, dance company performances, appropriate videos and written information.

Maximise opportunities to have state and interstate teachers and or professionals participate in presenting classes for all students in the school.

Principals Effie and Leigh have international qualifications with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing and many years experience teaching young children to adults and showcase exceptional end of year dance performances


Melissa, our pre-school teacher has excellent knowledge and experience with young children and holds a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Jo, our Contemporary teacher, holds a diploma in dance in dance teaching and as the director of Move Though Life dance company she brings to the school a wealth of knowledge and ideas on dance performance.
