Effie has achieved a broad range of experiences as a teacher and
choreographer during her twenty-five year career. Holding an Associate
Diploma in Modern Theatre Dance given by the Society of London
her extensive experience includes being part of studio dance schools,
public and private education primary and high schools and speciality
groups including national/world skating teams and gymnastic teams.
Effie is also involved in preparing dancers for community performances
where students are provided with an opportunity to perform in
the general public arena building on their repertoire of theatrical
knowledge and skill. Her high level of
interpersonal and communication skills with an exceptional ability
in winning the confidence of her students provides them with the
determination to succeed . As a highly skilled teacher she has
trained students in top level Advanced 2 modern examinations who
have received “Distinction” results. She is also currently
an active Board member with Ausdance Australia and has choreographed
works for the Move Through Life Dance Company.
In 2010 Effie was invited by the Education Department to conduct the Jazz classes for Information Dance Day held at the Festival Theatre for all the dance students across metro and regional SA. At the end of the day she was in addition invited to present a Year 12 jazz technique framework for SACE moderators, setting the benchmark for all year 12 students across SA.
Through
her love of dance Effie inspires students to continuously reach
new and exciting heights. This is not only exhibited in end of
year productions but is demonstrated throughout every class she
teaches.
